Senior Strategic Advisor and Industry Relations

Bob Dinneen is a leading authority on renewable energy policy and has been involved in the U.S. ethanol industry since its nascent years, getting his start with the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) in 1987 and going on to serve as the organization’s president and CEO from 2001 to 2018. During his time with the RFA, Bob's and the trade association’s efforts played a pivotal role in the passage of the Renewable Fuel Standard in 2005 and the subsequent growth of ethanol in the decades since as a safer and cleaner fuel oxygenate alternative to MTBE. Bob now serves as a senior strategic advisor for SABR.

Bob Dinneen and Joe Jobe served as the leaders of the biodiesel and ethanol trade associations respectively and together during the same two decades. The two led their respective pioneering biofuel industries from their nascent beginnings to the multi-billion dollar low carbon transportation industries they are today. They forged a powerful alliance and bond between biodiesel, ethanol, and agriculture to develop the underlying policies that are the foundation of the biofuels markets to this day. They have reunited under SABR to continue their support of biodiesel, ethanol, agriculture, and truck stop operators who have invested in the infrastructure to deliver the low carbon energy, rural development, and green jobs that these fuels provide every day.
